Dr. Eriator is the director of the pain program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and an associate professor of anesthesiology at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, both in Jackson, MS. He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management and previously practiced in these areas at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS.
Throughout history, opioids have been linked to both great efficacy and tragic misuse. Can we find a way to dispel irrational fears about these agents while promoting caution?
