Less than 4 months remain before the 2015 AVAHO Conference gathers VA health care professionals specializing in hematology and oncology in Washington, DC. As the event draws nearer, the presentation list is growing robust and will feature speakers from all over the U.S., both from within the VA system and from other organizations.

This year’s conference theme is “Precision and Personalized Medicine.” Keynotes by the Director of NIH’s National Human Genome Research Institute, Eric Green, MD, PhD, and Betty Ferrell, PhD, of the City of Hope, will inform conference attendees just what precision and personalized medicine is and how it can be incorporated into VA practice.

Other presentation topics range from determining the most appropriate pharmacologic care using genetic information, an update on tumor registry coding, the financial impact of precision medicine, to how to have difficult conversations with patients regarding their care, and more.

The 2015 AVAHO Conference will be held from October 2 to October 4 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC.
