Partially enclosed morcellation of a uterus during LSH using laparoscopic morcellation bag

James D. Kondrup, MD, demonstrates his surgical team's approach to morcellation, with use of a morcellation bag after laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy. With meticulous technique, Dr. Kondrup says the surgeon may be able to prevent the spread of tissue. Dr. Kondrup's latest version of the bag uses the draw string to close the bag prior to removal.

 

Dr. Kondrup is Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Upstate Medical Center Syracuse, Binghamton, New York, and is in private practice at Lourdes Hospital, Broome OB/GYN, Binghamton.
