Better continence rate gives robotic prostatectomy the edge
Key clinical point: Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) is associated with greater preservation of continence than laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP).
Major finding: At 3 months, 54.3% of patients who underwent RARP and 45.6% of those who had LRP were continent after catheter removal (P = .027).
Study details: LAP-01, a randomized trial comparing RARP to LRP in 718 men with prostate cancer.
