Questions 1 and 2 refer to the following case:

A 50-year-old man with multiple myeloma (MM) presents 4 years after undergoing high-dose therapy and autologous stem cell transplantation. For induction therapy, he received 4 cycles of bortezomib and dexamethasone and achieved a very good partial remission. At 3 months post transplant he was in a complete remission. He has been observed without maintenance therapy and has received periodic infusions of zoledronic acid. He has no residual toxicities of previous therapy.
