Question 1 of 5

A 32-year-old man presents to his primary care provider’s office with a painless left scrotal mass that he noticed after sexual intercourse. A workup for sexually transmitted infections is negative, and the mass does not improve with empiric antibiotic treatment. The patient undergoes a testicular ultrasound exam, which shows a 2.4-cm hypoechoic lesion in an otherwise normal-appearing left testicular parenchyma, concerning for malignancy.

What investigations should be performed next?

Computed tomography (CT) abdomen and pelvis with and without contrast

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) pelvis with and without contrast

Measurement of serum tumor markers, including alpha-fetoprotein, lactate dehydrogenase, and beta-human chorionic gonadotropin
