Overactivation of the complement system significantly contributes to the pathogenesis of various acute and chronic diseases, particularly autoimmune diseases like myasthenia gravis (MG). However, despite the number of current therapy options for treatment of MG, an estimated 10% to 15% of patients suffer from treatment-refractory disease.
