Silent brain infarcts found in 3% of AFib patients, tied to cognitive decline

Key clinical point: Silent brain infarcts often developed in atrial fibrillation patients and linked with cognitive decline.

Major finding: Incident brain infarcts appeared in 68 of 1,227 patients followed, and 59 of these patients were on oral anticoagulation.
