Minorities bear brunt of pediatric COVID-19 cases

Key clinical point: COVID-19 infection rates were significantly higher in non-Hispanic Black and Hispanic children, compared with non-Hispanic White children.

Major finding: Infection rates for Hispanic, non-Hispanic Black, and non-Hispanic white children were 46%, 30%, and 7%, respectively.

Study details: The data come from a cross-sectional study of 1,000 children tested for COVID-19 at a pediatric drive-through and walk-up site from March 21, 2020, to April 28, 2020.
