Insomnia Symptoms Correlate With Seizure Frequency
Key clinical point: Routine screening of insomnia in patients with epilepsy may be warranted.
Major finding: Nearly half of the patients evaluated at an epilepsy center had an Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) score of 8 or greater, and 23% had an ISI score of 15 or greater.
Study details: A prospective analysis of data from 270 patients with epilepsy who presented to the Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Center for an initial evaluation between January and August 2018.
