Cleaner data confirm severe COVID-19 link to diabetes, hypertension

Key clinical point: Patients hospitalized for COVID-19 disease had high prevalence rates for diabetes and for hypertension.

Major finding: Among patients hospitalized for COVID-19, the prevalence of diabetes was 12% and hypertension was 17%.

Study details: A meta-analysis of 65 studies with 15,794 patients published during December 2019 to April 6, 2020.
