The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is reporting widespread influenza activity in 36 states. In addition, there are active measles outbreaks on both the East and West coasts. Dr. Campos-Outcalt describes the steps that family physicians can take to help prevent the spread of these infectious diseases.
