Serum NfL levels may predict 10-year deep gray matter volumes

Key clinical point: In the first several years after MS onset, serum NfL levels predict deep gray matter volumes at 10 years.

Major finding: The inverse association between serum NfL levels and deep gray matter volumes remained significant in a multivariate analysis.

Study details: An examination of data for patients enrolled in the Comprehensive Longitudinal Investigations in MS at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (CLIMB) study.
